CUPID: Additional Follow-Up Phase
What is it?
CUPID participants who complete the main study at Visit 11 (the 3-year visit) will be invited to take part in the Additional Follow-Up Phase. The Additional Follow-Up Phase comprises an extra clinic visit six months after the end of the main study, and a questionnaire booklet. The extra visit and the questionnaire booklet are very similar to those experienced throughout the study. Full details of what is involved can be obtained by reading the specific Participant Information Sheet.
What is it for?
The Additional Follow-Up Phase will enable us to learn about the effects, if any, of withdrawing trial medication. Everyone who completes the main study at visit 11 will be welcome to join the extra follow-up phase even if they have already stopped taking study medication. However, a few sites have elected not to take part, so please check with your local team. You can view a list of sites that are taking part by clicking here.
Do I have to take part?
The additional follow-up phase is entirely optional. CUPID participants will receive a short information sheet about the extra visit prior to attending Visit 11. A copy of the information sheet can be viewed by clicking here.
Please note that the extra follow-up phase will not in any way delay either the completion of the main study or publication of the CUPID results.
